5 library sites
the first site i have chosen to look at is the Geelong Regional Library Corporation website. I like this website because it is very welcoming. it is very colorful and vibrant, which in turn makes me want to look through the rest of the website. All of the navigation tabs at the top of the website are very straightforward and, once clicked on, contain different sub-links to various things, all of which relate to the original tab heading. all information presented on this website is easy to understand and find. The whole website is very well set out.
the second site i have chosen to look at is the State Library of Victoria website. This is a very good website, it is set out really well and it is fairly easy to find information via the links provided on the home page and in the various tabs. While it isn't as colourful as the Geelong regional library website, there is a lot more information available to the public than on the Geelong regional library website.
the third site i have chosen to look at is the Library of Congress website. This website is very plain and not very well set out. The majority of the site's content is on the home page, which makes it very unappealing and slightly intimidating. There is no color included in this website which makes it very dull and boring and doesn't make me want to look at the website further. I also found this website hard to navigate.
the fourth site i have chosen to look at is the ALIA website. The ALIA website is a lot better set out than the library of congress website. It is very colorful and engaging and makes me want to look into the website further. Because it is set out really well, it is easy to find the information that you are after.
the fifth site i have chosen to look at is the National Library of Australia website. The National Library of Australia website is simple in the way it is set out but is effective and engaging at the same time. They don't heaps of color but the color that is used is used effectively. There is no information on the home page, only links to the other parts of the website which makes it more appealing to the person looking at the website. All of the information included in this website is very easy to understand and find.

first blog post (17.7)
the sole purpose of this blog is to, i'm guessing, record what happens in the social media and web page design classes with Margie. We were just told to make a blog and write our first post so here it is :)
It was easy to sign up to blogger and then make this blog although other people are not finding it as easy due to the usernames they come up with being taken and not being able to come up with a blog title.
Today's social media class was just Margie talking about what we will learn about in the class and that we had to create a blog as well as a facebook page, purely for class purposes. In web page design we made the blog and did our first post.
